Leaving Luna

I received this book as a gift and instantly loved it. It was written by two women, Cindy Borden and Penny Richardson, who used to work as educators in the prison system. They decided to leave their careers, sell their homes and most of their possessions to pursue the bike tour of a lifetime.

The cover as well as the pictures inside of the book were all original water colors that Cindy had painted during the trip. It's a refreshing approach rather than just capturing the experience by camera and a great insight as to how she viewed their beautiful surroundings.

E-mails and journal entries make up most of the book and go in chronological order explaining the ladies ups and downs on their journey. It makes you feel like you got to be on their long list of friends and family waiting in anticipation for their next wild story to arrive in your inbox.

If you are a cycling enthusiast, a traveler, or just need something to read I highly recommend this great book!
